During the 18th century, black slaves were used as experiments to test gynecology procedures. Unfortunately, these women were worked on without consent and received no type of medicine for pain. Because of these experiments, doctors then and today make the assumption that black people are immune to pain.

The neglect of black women in health care system results in a great loss of black women. Studies have shown that black women are 3x more likely to die under healthcare in comparison to any other race. Surprisingly black patients are not the only ones to death with discrimination in the health care system. Black doctors deal with discrimination from patients and coworkers on the job as well. Guidelines are oftentimes given to doctors on “how to deal with racist patients”

No matter the gender or race this issue should alert everyone. Innocent black women are taken away because of the prejudiced thoughts of racist doctors. Avoid their next patients being your mothers, sisters, cousins, or friends by rising to the challenge. LET’S TAKE ACTION!
